  • University of Oslo - Call for papers in the field of green criminology in Africa

    The Department of Criminology and Sociology of Law, University of Oslo launches a call for papers about a topic of free choice connected with terrestrial or marine environmental conflict, destruction and/or resistance in Africa and invites African scholars from African Universities to contribute.

  • EUA webinar series "Greening in European higher education institutions"

    Save the date for the upcoming EUA webinar series "Greening in European higher education institutions". The three-part event will take place between 31 May and 4 June.
    Higher education institutions are well placed to play a key role in achieving the objectives of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda, as well as the European Green Deal. To make the sector’s commitment to environmental sustainability more visible and accessible, EUA recently launched an initiative on greening in higher education institutions. In the spring of 2021, institutions from across the EHEA contributed to a large-scale survey, sharing their approaches and activities in the field.

    The input provided in the survey has great value to European universities and to the broader discussion taking place across Europe on this important topic. Therefore, EUA is pleased to present the preliminary findings during this webinar series, featuring discussions with higher education representatives on the following topics:

    Webinar I - Environmental sustainability and the future of mobility and internationalisation
    31 May, 14.00-15.00 CEST

    Webinar II - The environmental sustainability of learning and teaching
    3 June 2021, 14.00-15.00 CEST

    Webinar III - University strategies and actions for environmental sustainability
    4 June 2021, 14.00-15.00 CEST

    Participation in the webinar series is free of charge and open to anyone interested. Registrations will remain open until the start of each event.
    The topic of environmental sustainability will also be featured in a range of other EUA activities in parallel to the EU’s Green Week, from 31 May to 4 June 2021.

  • University of Tehran - Call for Applications/ E-Learning Master Degree in Iranian Studies

    The Faculty of Literature and Humanities, University of Tehran, are now accepting applications for MA Iranian Studies (E-Learning). The flexible online design makes it easy for students to follow the courses in their home country and even to combine them with other studies or work.

    Master of Arts in Iranian Studies is an internationally recognized degree from the University of Tehran and it is an intensive two-year program consisting of rigorous coursework and research that will be offered in Persian. Courses will cover the following topics: History of Iran, History of Iranian Literature and Languages, General Issues in Iranian Studies, Research Methodology, Bibliography, Iranian Studies (Schools, Subfields, Methods); Special Topics such as Iranian World and Contemporary Iran, General historical sociology of Iran, Archaeology and Epigraphy, Historical Geography, History of Iranian Arts, Contemporary Persian literature, Persian historical documents, Codicology, History of Iran based on national accounts.

  • IAU- UOC - New joint series – Innovative Education for Unshaped Futures (IE4UF)

    The International Association of Universities (IAU) and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) are pleased to announce the launch of a new joint series – the Innovative Education for Unshaped Futures (IE4UF)!
    The series is divided into six 1-hour chapters exploring different topics and bringing together experts to discuss current practices and solutions as well as the challenges ahead, these sessions are open to the public at large. Each of the chapters will be followed by a policy dialogue session the following day where participants can come together to exchange on the topic in question, express ideas, seek advice from peers or provide recommendations. The policy dialogues are limited to 20 participants per session to ensure maximum interaction and exchange. The outcomes of the policy dialogues will be submitted in the form of a report to the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference scheduled for 2022. Register now for :

  • American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB) - Invitation to participate in "Stories of Pandemic - Resonance Beyond the Horizon"

    In the hope of bringing together the everyday triumphs and struggles of young adults from around the world in these uncertain and difficult times, AIUB cordially invites all its collaborative partners to nominate students (individuals/groups) of their respective institutions to register and submit up to 3 stories of their experiences in the pandemic, using any creative format (write-ups, recitals, music, films, art, photos, etc.). Interested Institutions must nominate and have their students complete the registration by the 28th of May 2021, as a confirmation of participation. All stories must then be prepared and submitted by the 14th of June 2021, after which the main event will showcase the awe-inspiring stories on the 26th of June 2021, from 3:00-6:00 PM (Bangladesh Standard Time), on Zoom.

    The European University Association (EUA) has launched a survey aiming to develop a broad perspective on universities and innovation and support the identification of new and existing innovation trends in the university sector.
