  • UNINETTUNO University and the Université Catholique de Lille signing for a Double Degree in Business Management and Digital Technologies

    On Wednesday 27 January the UNINETTUNO Rector Prof. Maria Amata Garito and the Rector of the Université Catholique de Lille Prof. Patrick Scauflaire, have signed the Double Degree academic agreement for the Master of Science in BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES. The program will be proposed with an innovative “blended” approach combining some of the best European experiences in online teaching in e-learning mode (Uninettuno) and traditional (the Université Catholique de Lille): the first year will be in e-learning mode through the UNINETTUNO teaching model, while the second year will be in presence at the Campus of the Catholic University of Lille.

  • The SDGs after the crisis – 4th national SDG Conference Bergen 10-12 February

    Registration is open for the fourth national SDG Conference Bergen: The SDGs after the crisis – 10-12 February, 2021 (virtual). The conference theme and sessions will address the issues around the covid-19 global pandemic, a crisis not only one of health. More than ever the challenges of global sustainable development have become visible, and chief among these is inequality. Initiated by the University of Bergen (IAU Member and HESD Cluster Lead for SDG14), the annual event is planned in dialogue with the other Norwegian universities, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Local Government and Administration.

  • SUNEO New publication - Pandemic: The Catastrophic Crisis

    We are pleased to announce the release of a new publication: Pandemic: The Catastrophic Crisis coordinated by Dr. Modesto Seara Vázquez, Rector of University of the Sea - Oaxaca State University System (SUNEO) (an IAU member ).
    This book constitutes an analysis of the pandemic, within the framework of what is considered to be a systemic crisis of great magnitude.   • The University of Macau kicks off celebration for 40th anniversary

    The University of Macau (UM) held an opening ceremony to kick off the celebration for its 40th anniversary, yesterday 17 January, 2021. The ceremony began with a video that reviewed the history and development of the university over the past four decades. The anniversary slogan ‘Set sail anew on the ruby jubilee’, means that UM is on the threshold of a new era, a time to take stock of past achievements and look ahead to new goals and dreams. As part of the celebration UM also held an Open Day that aimed to allow the public to experience UM’s development in teaching and research as well as its vibrant campus life through exhibitions and activities. This year, the university will hold a series of celebratory activities with different themes, including academic research, cultural exchange, and alumni development.

    York University is hosting the Sustainable and Inclusive Internationalization Virtual Conference, co-organized by York International, the UNESCO Chair in Reorienting Education Towards Sustainability and international partners, from January 20th to 22nd, 2021. The Conference will bring together scholars, international mobility professionals and practitioners, policymakers, sustainability experts and other stakeholders to discuss the evolving status of international mobility in higher education in Canada and globally, critically reflect on where we are now, and to collectively build a future vision of international mobility that is inclusive, innovative and responsive to the global sustainability challenges of our times.

  • University of South Africa (UNISA) appoints first female Vice Chancellor in 148 years

    The Council of the University of South Africa (UNISA) is proud to announce that, in a move unprecedented since the establishment of the university 148 years ago, it will have its first female Principal and Vice Chancellor with effect from 01 January 2021.
    This follows the approval of the appointment of Professor Puleng LenkaBula as the incoming Principal and Vice Chancellor during the special sitting of the UNISA Council on Thursday, 05 November 2020.
    Professor LenkaBula, who is currently the Vice Rector: Institutional Change, Student Affairs and Community Engagement at the University of the Free State (UFS), has extensive managerial experience in higher education. Prior to occupying the Vice Rector position at the UFS, she was the Dean of Students at WITS University, where she was a member of the Vice Chancellor’s Office (VCO) and the Senior Executive Team.
