  • International Telematic University (UNINETTUNO) - University for Refugees

    On January 7th, 2019, at UN headquarters of New York, the International Telematic University (UNINETTUNO) presented the project “University for Refugees”, a multilingual portal created with the aim to gives refugees and asylum seekers (also living in international refugee camps) the chance to access for free UNINETTUNO academic programs. All programs are delivered in five languages (Arabic, English, Italian, French, Greek) via the platform of the UNINETTUNO University. See more information bellow.




  • University of Geneva - 2nd Edition of the Geneva Trialogue

    The Geneva Trialogue, took place on Monday 21 January 2019 at Campus Biotech, Geneva, Switzerland. The theme this year is ‘Scaling Education for the SDGs’. For this second edition the University of Geneva joined force with UNITAR, the UN Institute for Training and Research, and XuetangX, China’s largest MOOC platform, to convene thought leaders, education innovators and decision makers from educational institutions, international organizations and the private sector. Through keynote talks, showcasing of projects, cross-cutting panel discussions, topical workshops and networking opportunities, the event explored ways to collaborate on scaling SDG education. This event is partially supported through the Geneva Tsinghua Initiative. More




  • SIDA and AAU – Female participation in science in African Universities

    Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) in collaboration with the Association of African Universities (AAU) invite African scholars to conduct studies on the topic: Factors that affect female participation in science in African universities. The study should seek to identify empirically those factors, social, economic, political, cultural, etc. that influence female participation in science programs in African universities.   • Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania) – Call for applications for the position of Rector

    Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) has launched a call for applications for the position of Rector, since MRU Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Algirdas Monkevičius has been appointed as the new Minister of Education, Science and Sport of Lithuania on January 15th, 2019. MRU’s Council has named Professor Dr. Inga Žalėnienė, (Member of the IAU Administrative Board) as Acting Rector. The deadline for applications is February 22th, 2019, 4.00 PM (Lithuanian time).   • ISIT and Kent State University - A new dual degree Master program in Intercultural Digital Strategy

    ISIT (FR) and Kent State University (US) are launching a new dual degree Master program in Intercultural Digital Strategy. This full-time program is totally taught in English and spreads over 2 years (the 1st year at the College of Communication and Information of Kent State University, the 2nd year within the Digital department of ISIT, followed by a six months internship).   • University of Tehran - Call for Participation for the UFGNSM 2019

    Since 2007, the Center of Excellence for High Performance Materials, University of Tehran, has successfully arranged a series of biennial conferences focused on UltraFine Grained and Nano-Structured Materials (UFGNSM). The purpose of these meetings is to allow those interested in the field to get together to present their research in a setting that fosters discussion, collaboration, and advancement in the field. The University of Tehran launches a call for participation for the 7th UFGNSM event (UFGNSM2019) that they are co-organising with the University of Trento (Italy), the conference host, on 1-3 September 2019.   • University of Bologna - Bologna Process Anniversary - Call for Abstracts

    On June 24-25, 2019 the City and the University of Bologna will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Bologna Declaration, signed in 1999 by education ministers of 29 European countries. On this occasion the University of Bologna, in cooperation with Magna Charta Observatory and the European University Association, will host an academic conference: The Bologna Process beyond 2020: fundamental values of the EHEA.

    IAU member Universitat d’Andorra launched the Network of Universities of Small Countries and Territories, NUSCT.
    Now comprised of six universities from the Principality of Andorra, Gibraltar, Greenland, Liechtenstein, Malta, and the Republic of San Marino, NUSCT will address issues that are specific to higher education institutions that operate in socio-political and economic contexts of small countries and territories.
