Asia-Europe Foundation ASEF
ASEF is an intergovernmental not-for-profit organisation that connects people and civil societies of 51 Asian and European countries and 2 regional organisations to jointly create a sustainable future in all 3 dimensions of sustainability – economic, social and environmental. IAU is a partner with ASEF in the biennial ASEF Rectors’ Conferences and Students’ Forum.

IAU and NUFFIC
NUFFIC is the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education. NUFFIC is an Affiliate Member of the IAU. NUFFIC DAAD AAU and IAU will cohost a high level panel debate at the Africa Knows Conference (December 2020 to February 2021)

National Union of Students
The National Union of Students is the UK body representing the interests of students in the UK. It is a confederation of 600 students’ unions in the UK. IAU and NUS signed an MoU to advance SD at student level.

IAU and EUA
European University Association
The European University Association (EUA) is an association comprised of European universities, national associations and higher education organisations.
EUA is a Member organisation of IAU. EUA recently contributed to the IAU report on Regional and National Perspectives on the Impact of COVID-19 on Higher Education.

IAU and British Council
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. In addition to providing language education, research, and policy positions, it works with higher education institutions and organisations in the UK and internationally and supports international exchange and mobility.
The British Council was a partner with IAU for IAU’s 4th Global Survey on Internationalization. IAU also has a partnership with the British Council’s annual Going Global conference. IAU presented at the 2020 British Council Going Global sessions on Universities Reaching the Sustainable Development Goals and on internationalization.

IAU and Palgrave Macmillan
Palgrave Macmillan is an international publisher of a wide range of books and journals in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
It is publisher of IAU’s quarterly journal ‘Higher Education Policy’ and of IAU’s flagship publication the International Handbook of Universities.

IAU and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency
The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, SIDA, is a government agency working on behalf of the Swedish parliament and government, with the mission to reduce poverty in the world.
IAU partnered with SIDA from 2002 to 2014, receiving support in its work in particular with higher education institutions in developing countries. SIDA supported IAU in a wide range of activities and publications, including, among others, the Guide to Higher Education in Africa, the LEADHER program for leadership development, the IDEA-PhD project on Innovative Approaches to Doctoral Education in Africa, and the HEEFA – Higher Education and Research working for Education for All – project.

IAU and UVED
UVED Université Virtuelle Environnement & Développement Durable
UVED, the Digital University for environment and sustainable development, is supported by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. It aims to coordinate, finance, and promote educational resources and digital training. It coordinates the production of a number of MOOCs in the field of sustainable development. UVED is a Member of IAU. The IAU Secretary-General is a Member of the UVED Administrative Board.

IAU and U-MULTIRANK
U-Multirank is a multidimensional, user-driven approach to international ranking of higher education institutions. It enables comparisons at the level of the university as a whole and at the level of specific study programmes. is developed and implemented on the initiative of the European Commission by an independent consortium led by the Centre for Higher Education (CHE) in Germany. IAU sits on the U-Multirank Advisory Board.

IAU and NAFSA
NAFSA: Association of International Educators
NAFSA is a US-based association focused on international education and exchange. It provides networking and training opportunities together with resources for international educators.
NAFSA is a Member of IAU. NAFSA was a sponsor of IAU’s Fifth Global Survey on Internationalization and is a member of NIEA, the Network of International Education Associations which is coordinated by IAU.
