The founder and President of Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics, Professor Victor Andryeevich Gnevko has passed away on 28th February, 2018 at the age of 72 after a long illness. He has been an influential figure in the higher education landscape in Russia. He implemented the concept of continuing education within his university and made a great contribution to the development of international cooperation: he initiated the creation of the European Management Academy (Berlin, Germany).
