  • UNICA Rectors Seminar

    UNICA is organising the Rectors Seminar "Networking of University Networks: Synergy of Partnership", which will be hosted by the University of Belgrade, 24-25 May 2018, as part of the University’s 210th founding anniversary celebrations. This Rectors Seminar will address the added value and novel forms of inter-university cooperation and discuss the reasons for the increasing interest in working in partnerships and forming strategic university alliances, partially prompted by the new "European Universities" initiative. The participation is free of charge, and participants are kindly requested to register by Friday, 11 May 2018. More information on the event page.

  • IUG Opens Women’s Studies Center

    Within the framework of the project "Strengthening Higher Education Capacities in Palestine for Gender Equality" SHE_GE, Islamic University of Gaza (IGU) has recently opened the Women’s Studies Center. The Center will be managed by the Faculty of Education as one of its 5 centers and it aims at providing the community with specialised and unique services for women.   • Central European University (CEU) condemns attempt to intimidate academics and NGOs

    CEU strongly condemns the listing of academics, employees of non-governmental organizations and journalists in Figyelo magazine. CEU president considers the publication of such list as : "a flagrant attempt at intimidation that is dangerous for academic freedom and therefore for all of Hungarian academic life.” Read more

  • University of Bergen - PhD Summer Research School on Global Challenges

    About one hundred PhD candidates, researchers and policy makers from around the world will gather in Bergen from 11-21 June, 2018 to attend the annual Bergen Summer Research School (BSRS). This year, six disciplinary courses focusing on priority settings in global health; global food insecurity; cultural heritage in the digital age; food security and the oceans, rights as political tools; and ecology and ethics, will be offered.

  • International Conference on Family Business and Entrepreneurship

    Kardan university is co-hosting, together with President University, an International Conference on Family Business and Entrepreneurship. It will take place from 2 to 4 May in Indonesia. Learn more on the conference website.

  • University of Gothenburg and Chalmers - Sustainable Development Cooperation

    Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg have signed a renewed collaboration agreement for sustainable development. They have created jointly the Centre for Environment and Sustainability with an aim to promote research, education and cooperation in the area of environment and sustainable development, the Centre will be renamed Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development.   • Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics - President passed away

    The founder and President of Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics, Professor Victor Andryeevich Gnevko has passed away on 28th February, 2018 at the age of 72 after a long illness. He has been an influential figure in the higher education landscape in Russia. He implemented the concept of continuing education within his university and made a great contribution to the development of international cooperation: he initiated the creation of the European Management Academy (Berlin, Germany).   • University of Tehran - Call for entries : Blue Vision International Photography Festival 2nd Edition

    Call for entries is now open for the Blue Vision International Photography Festival, an environmental international competition organized by art and ecosystem club at University of Tehran and with the help of students all over the world. The main focus of this year’s festival will be on well informed energy consumption and clean energies. The participants can submit their work until May 30th and the selected artists will be announced by the end of June. More

  • Association of American Colleges and Universities - Appointment of Eight New Directors

    New directors were appointed to AAC&U’s board during AAC&U’s 2018 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, in January. The new directors include eight educational leaders from a wide array of institutions. Richard Guarasci, President of Wagner College, became chair of the board, taking over for Elsa Núñez, President of Eastern Connecticut State University.
