American Council on Education (ACE) - New President12 October 2017
Ted Mitchell, a former college President and Under Secretary in charge of higher education under the Obama administration, has been named the Council’s 13th president. He will officially take office on September 1, 2017, and will succeed Molly Corbett Broad, former University of North Carolina president, who has led the Council since 2008. Mitchell received his bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University.

Makerere University (Uganda) - New Vice Chancellor3 October 2017
Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe was installed as the new Vice Chancellor of Makerere University on 14 September 2017. He took over from Prof. John Ddumba Ssentamu whose five-year term of office elapsed on August 31. Former to this nomination, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe was Deputy Vice Chancellor (VC) in charge of Finance and Administration. He earned his Master’s and Doctorate degree in Architecture from Kyiv National University of Construcion and Architecture.
