  • CIHE - Hans de Wit Fellowship for early career researchers in higher education

    CIHE is delighted to announce the launch of a new fellowship program, established with seed funding from World Education Services in honor of Former CIHE Director Hans de Wit, to support the academic mobility of early career researchers in the field of higher education studies. The Hans de Wit Fellowship will support one researcher per year to spend a semester at CIHE.
    Applications for the 2022-2023 academic year are due no later than August 15, 2022. Although any early career researcher is welcome to apply, preference will be given to applicants from marginalized backgrounds, including those with refugee status, those based in the Global South and those from traditionally under-represented backgrounds.

  • AAU Secretary General attented the University of Toronto-Africa Partnership Meeting

    Professor Olusola Oyewole, the Secretary General of the Association of African Universities, joined eminent African Higher Education leaders to deliberate on the University of Toronto-Africa partnership initiative in Toronto, Canada. The event themed “Partnership for Mutual Excellence and Inclusive Impact” took place on Thursday, 23 June 2022 and was organized by the University of Toronto Scarborough and the Office of the Vice President International under the guidance of the Presidential International Council for Africa. Key African institutions that were represented included the African Research Universities Alliance, Association of the Development of Education in Africa, Ashesi University, African Leadership University, Amref International University, Addis Ababa University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (an IAU member), the diplomatic community and other distinguished institutions.

  • Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México - International forum "World Universities: National Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development" - MONDIACULT, UNESCO 2022

    Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México launches a call for papers for the international forum “World Universities: National Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development” that they will be hosting within the agenda of MONDIACULT, UNESCO 2022. The event will take place at the university premises in Mexico City on September 26-27, 2022.
    The forum will have a hybrid modality : virtual/on-site.

  • NUSCT Declarations

    Rectors and rectors’ delegates from the 11 universities members of the Network of Universities of Small Countries and Territories (NUSCT) gathered on 3 May, 2022, at the University of Greenland to celebrate the 4th rectors’ annual meeting of the Network.
    At this meeting NUSCT members agreed upon the following declarations: 1. to lobby tech companies and respective governments to ensure that AI applications include languages employed in the countries and territories in their Network ; 2. to renew the NUSCT condemnation of the Russian Armed Forces aggression against Ukraine, calling for an immediate halt to the suffering and destruction being caused.

  • UNACH - International Academic Cooperation and Collaboration Conference

    The Autonomous University of Chiapas, through the General Coordination of Inter-institutional Relations, is organising the event entitled "International Academic Cooperation and Collaboration Conference", which will take place on Wednesday 25 May and 1 June this year, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm (Mexico City time), virtually through the digital platforms Zoom and Facebook Live.
    The Conference brings together six international experts who will present different strategies and opportunities for international academic cooperation and collaboration and will provide information for the participants to reflect on the possibilities of developing joint projects through the various international academic cooperation and collaboration strategies. The event is mainly aimed at the university communities of Mexico and Latin America.

  • USAMVB to celebrate 170th anniversary

    The University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest (USAMVB) will celebrate it’s 170th Anniversary, on June 2nd, 2022, at 59 Mărăşti Boulevard, Bucharest. The opening ceremony will start at 9:00 AM, and will be followed at 14:00PM by an International Conference : Agriculture for Life and Life or Agriculure. A Garden Party at the Dendrological Park will close the ceremony at 19:00PM.
    USAMVB with it’s 7 Faculties, 15 Departments, and around 12,0000 students is the oldest and largest institution of higher agricultural sciences and veterinary education in Romania. The University currently offers 6 study programs in English and French (Veterinary Medicine).

  • AAU - Publication On The Future Of Higher Education In Africa

    The AAU is pleased to share it’s latest publication titled - “The Future of Higher Education in Africa–A Summary of Conference Subthemes”.
    The publication succinctly captures the key presentations, discussions, scientific papers, and contributions made by stakeholders during the Association of African Universities’ 15th General Conference, hosted virtually on July 5-8, 2021.
    The six (6) chapters of this publication, which were also the sub-themes of the conference focuses on the follow:
     Sub-Theme 1: The Future of African Higher Education Post-COVID-19
     Sub-Theme 2: Contributions of African Higher Education Institutions to Addressing the Challenges linked to the COVID-19 pandemic
