Argentina
  University of Salvador – Member (Institution)
The University of Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina will be the host of the forthcoming “International Congress on Higher Education Accreditation”. This is an event which is being organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the University of Salvador. The event is also being sponsored by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) and the Italian University Consortium of Argentina. In light of the commemoration of the Bicentenary of the Argentina Republic, the afore-mentioned educational bodies are pleased to announce that this exciting event will be held from September 27-29, 2010.

The 26th in the series “European Policy Seminars” of the ACA, titled “World-class: the brave new world of global higher education and research”, will take place in Brussels on 15 October 2010.   Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) – Member (Organisation)
AUCC released online the third volume of its report “Trends in higher education - Volume 3: Finance”, which examines the structure and sources of university funding in Canada, draws a comparison with U.S., U.K. and Australia, and questions evolution perspectives. Main outcomes reveal a drop in the overall revenues in favour of teaching and research per student at Canadian universities since the 1980s and a stagnation since 2000.

  Twenty US universities and 20 institutions in 15 African countries have won Africa-US Higher Education Initiative Planning Grants of US$50,000 each for capacity-building partnerships. There were nearly 300 applications for the grants that pair US and African higher education institutions and are supported by USAID and the US-based Higher Education for Development. 4 out of those 20 institutions from African countries are IAU members: Kigali Institute of Science &Technology, Rwanda; University of Malawi; Makerere University, Uganda; Université Gaston-Berger, Senegal.
