New Members at IAU

New Members The IAU is pleased to welcome the following new Institutional Members: National University of La Matanza, Argentina; University of Raparin, Iraq; Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan; The World Islamic Science & education University, Jordan; Autonomous University of Chiapas, Mexico; Shah Abdul Latif University, Pakistan; Vaal University of Technology, South Africa; International University in Geneva, Switzerland; Institute of Advanced Studies in Tunis, Tunisia; Atilim University, Turkey; Turkmen State Oil and Gas Institute, Turkmenistan; Bindura University of Science Education, Zimbabwe. They joined IAU since 1 June 2013.

National University of La Matanza, Argentina. UN-LAM was created in the early 90s to respond to a need for proximity education in the region of La Matanza. It was created under the National Law 23.748 on 23 October 1989. This law was enacted to resolve the lack of institutions of higher education over the most populous county in Buenos Aires Province. Since 1991, it has grown into a full-fledged university. The university offers degrees in the following disciplines: Engineering; Social Sciences; Economics; Law; Health.

University of Raparin, Iraq.
The University of Raparin is a newly established academic institution for educating and preparing qualified individuals in different fields for the development of the Kurdistan Region. It is a public university in Iraqi Kurdistan which counts two campuses, one in Rania and the other in Qaladze, and enrolls students from around the country. Degrees can be obtained in Basic Education and Humanities Science; Education; Nursing and biology.

Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan.
Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech) was founded in 1905 as Nagoya Higher Technical School, a national institute. In the last 100-odd years, more than 70,000 students and faculty have graduated from this institute. They developed the foundation of Japan's industrial society and support its prosperity. Responding to social demands of the time, NITech has been reforming its education system continuously. It now counts 7 departments, 18 Day Courses programs, 4 Evening Courses departments and 7 Graduate School majors. They cover most of foundational and advanced engineering fields. Also by enhancing international academic exchange in the area of education, research, technology, NITech aims to establish liaison offices for global education research and put students with global vision into to the world.

The World Islamic Science & education University, Jordan.

Wise was established in April 2008 by a royal decree as an independent Jordanian World Institution of higher education. It aims to provide the Arab and Islamic worlds with specialists in all matters relating to Islamic creed (Aqeedah), Islamic law (Shari'a), science, philosophy, education, and Islamic arts and architecture as a contribution to world civilization. Wise seeks to be a modern Islamic university, a leader in comprehensive methodology in the world. It enjoys a global vision besides being regional and local.

Autonomous University of Chiapas, Mexico.
The Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (UNACH) is a public institution located in one of the most beautiful states of the south of Mexico. It has a state coverage of 17 campuses and a diverse educational offer certified for its quality in: Education, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Law, Natural Sciences, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Agronomy, Veterinary and Health; it has more than 21,000 undergraduate and graduate students and 2,018 teachers. It is member of many national and international institutions and organisms. The Academic Project 2010-2014, “Generation & Management for Innovation”, visualizes an inclusive university, of quality, without borders, open to time, space and knowledge and to the universal culture.

Shah Abdul Latif University, Pakistan.
Founded in 1976 as a campus, SALU acquired university status in 1987. Based in the north of Sindh, it counts nearly 6000 students studying across three faculties at the university. Considering the future challenges and market needs, it offers a wide range of courses in Natural Science, Social Sciences, Arts, Humanities and Business Administration. In order to maintain diversity across the student community, it is open to students both from across the country and international. The University is committed to academic excellence.

Vaal University of Technology, South Africa.
VAT counts 4 faculties: Management Sciences; Applied and Computer Sciences; Engineering and Technology and Human Sciences; and 7 Centres of Excellence: Technology, Transfer and Innovation; Engineering Development and Support Unit (EDSU); Institute of Applied Electronics; Institute of High Voltage Studies; Unit for Preparatory Programmes; Centre for Sustainable Livelihoods; Institute of Chemical and Biotechnology. The institution is committed to developing a vibrant and innovative culture, which allows open system thinking, flexible organizational process and structure that encourages new thinking and doing within higher education.

International University in Geneva, Switzerland.
IUN is to develop International Professionals committed to serve a sustainable society. It is a non-profit Institution of Higher Education, which provides quality education for student success in business and international careers. The University is dedicated to education in business, communication, international relations, and trade with a global outlook; foster a balance of academic and practical programs through effective learning processes, personalized students services, and a faculty that is committed to teaching and research; offer a dynamic learning environment, promoting diversity and being responsive to the changing needs of the international community.

Institute of Advanced Studies in Tunis, Tunisia.
The Institut des Hautes Etudes is a Private not for profit higher education institution , created in 1998; it forms part of a group of European higher education institutions based in Europe, Africa and Asia. The University is specialized in Business Management and grants degrees and diplomas in Accountancy; Finance, Marketing, International Business; Management; Law, Tourism. It’s main mission is to focus on developing competences students need for the labor market.

Atilim University, Turkey.
Atilim University was created in 1997 by the Atilim Foundation as a Foundation University. Its goals are to foster personal development; the pursuit of excellence; internationalization; cultural diversity and local relevance. Atılım University is located in İncek, one of the most recent and fastest developing residential areas of Ankara. Atilim University counts 5 Faculties: Arts & Sciences; Art, Design and Architecture; Law; Management and Engineering.

International Oil and Gas University, Turkmenistan.
Turkmen State Oil and Gas Institute was established in 2012 and is a continuation of the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute, which was created in 1963. The Institute focuses on teaching and research programs for the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan. The priority areas in the development of the Institute are educational, scientific and innovation activities. TSOGI confers great importance to cooperation with foreign educational institutions, companies and organizations of oil and gas industry.

Bindura University of Science Education, Zimbabwe.
BUSE is a state institution established at the turn of the millennium. The institution prides itself in having modern facilities, manageable small classes and qualified and experienced staff. The ICT infrastructure is well developed enabling students and staff to keep in touch with developments on any part of the globe through the world wide web. The university offers a wide range of academic study programmes, keeping with the demands for training in the most popular professions and research: Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Science; Faculty of Science; Faculty of Science Education; Faculty of Commerce. There are also very good facilities for sport and recreation at the halls of residence.
